Octavius

Tonight we watched "Night at the Museum 2," mainly for this guy above, Octavius.  We're doing a "Romans" series, so therefore we were wanting to watch a few movies with actual Romans in them.  Unfortunately, some of them tend to be a bit on the violent side, and not exactly family-friendly films.  So we have the "Night at the Museum" series, which features this tiny hero Octavius.  He fits perfectly with the message that Daddy will be speaking on Sunday, one found in Romans about all the parts of the body working together - even the small parts.  I'll be showing this clip above, the one where he rides in triumphantly and saying with all the drama he can, "I ride the squirrel!"  Of course, he's distracted the villains and brought in some very large help.  Even the those you think are tiny play a big part.

Today is St. David's Day, and we were thinking Welsh thoughts for a bit.  Mommy made bangers and mash for breakfast, which was pretty awesome, and tonight we had a creamy potato and leek soup, which was actually pretty good.  We have a lot of Wales in our heritage, something we noted about ten years ago on this very blog was how it was pretty funny how Madison was born in China, lives in Georgia, and has Welsh ancestry.

Madison did well on her math test today, getting a 97, and cementing that great grade average in a good way.  We're still waiting on her science test on the water cycle, but she thinks she did well on that.  Once we're good there, we're back to all A's, something that's just amazing, really.  We're pretty proud of her on that front.

She had a great day today at school, otherwise.  It was raining again, and we picked up a neighbor and rode there together, getting dropped off one car in front of one of the bullies.  Madison isn't worried or scared though.  The friend is the one who helped her on the bus, Jaycie, who is also going to be in a school play pretty soon.  We're going to that in a few weeks, yet another Dr. Seuss thing, a play called "Seussical."  We got tickets for that today.

She had art club this morning, making tie dye shirts.  She was anxious to get this one washed and ready to wear soon - that will take place in thirty-six hours, if we go by the ancient rules of tie dye.  I think it takes that long for things to settle in.  Anyway, she's still in art club, and enjoying the projects they do.

Josh spent the night at our house once again tonight, as he's been doing all week really.  He leaves before we get up lately, so it's as if he isn't really here at all in a way, outside of using our guest room.  He's been working hard towards Summer Xtreme's movie.  That's coming up sooner than I'd like it - we're already in March, and have a long ways to go on the writing.  First things first, we're still working on devotional entries and messages for our "Lost World" series in April.  Lots going on here!   We're keeping busy for sure!
