Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes

This afternoon we closed out "Apefest" in grand fashion with Maddie's first theater viewing of a "Planet of the Apes" movie.  We saw the Thursday showing of "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes," heading out to the 4pm showing.  We saw it in Gainesville's theater, which has seen better days.  Sadly, the immense rain this morning actually caved in the roof at two of the auditorium.  Those of us with tickets for the event were sent to another smaller auditorium for a more "intimate" experience.  Despite all that, we enjoyed the movie of course.  There was a good crowd to see it, and the movie was good.  I think the general feeling is that we enjoyed the last three more, but that may be because we enjoyed the last three so much.  This one had some great visuals and of course the characters were fantastic.  The humans are notably in shorter supply though.  We did like the visuals of Los Angeles, covered in green.  It's probably the best the city has looked in centuries!

We mentioned rain above.  We had lots of it last night.  It kept us up through the night, in fact.  At least some of us.  Maddie sleeps through this all pretty well.  There was a lot of rain in the North Georgia mountains, and some severe weather up there too.  We had a bit of loud thunder, and just a massive outpouring.

I was at work today, but Mom, Maddie and Uncle George spent the day together, before the movie of course.  It was a nice day together.  This evening we sat down to watch some "Monk" episodes together, and enjoy the key lime pie that Maddie and Mom made before Uncle George got here.  We've had the ingredients, and Uncle George's arrival was a perfect time to make some pie.  And eat it!  Yummy!

The weather is cooler tonight.  We closed out the day with reading, and a prayers.  Tomorrow is a big doctor's appointment.
