Professor Wisenheimer Returns

The Weird Science labs are open again, and this is a really old series for us.  It has been done about four or five times since the beginning, and when I say beginning, today's message is over twenty years old.  Yeah.  But it's a good one, a trip through the stars and it's always being updated to show how ginormous creation really is.  One of the fun things we did today was measure people's weights on other planets.

Mom made this scale yesterday - it lights up and is painted copper with all kinds of rivets on it like some sort of steampunk creation.  It looked fantastic with the lights down low, blinking LED lights and so on whenever anyone stepped on it to get their weight.

But there were plenty of other different things too, including our solar walk that we filmed earlier - Josh edited that video of our tour through the solar system.  We had our Weird Science races, with he inventors zooming through a course on their own inventions.  And there was a fantastic message that moved through the stars to distant destinations like the Whirlpool Galaxy or the Bubble Nebula or the Crown of Thorns Galaxy.  Pretty amazing stuff to see.

It was a fun morning, and there is so much more science to see this series.  Next week we'll be looking at optical illusions and after that chemistry and so on, so it's not just astronomy we're dealing with here.  The hope is that the kids learn a bit from science as well as the Bible of course, and yeah, all while having a good time.  There was a lot of positive response from the audience this morning - it was great to see.

We went to eat Chinese food afterwards, and that was nice, the three of us just going out to the restaurant to get a bite to eat.  Maddie had her usual visit with General Tso, while Mom had the shrimp and lobster sauce and I went with diced chicken and cashews.  It was a pleasant afternoon, and we got home shortly after that, cleaning up somewhat and resting for just a moment until...

CLACK!

The squirrel trap went off already.  We just put the thing out when we got home, and yes, sure enough we got squirrel number ten.  It's not Willy, and we saw who it was that just kept coming back so that's why the trap was out there.  And we needed to get him to the squirrel preserve, so all three of us got in the car again, and made a fun trip out of it.  We dropped the squirrel off first over behind the church...

"If nature's kind, they'll take him in like he's one of their own."

But then it was time for a few other small errands.  We were over at Big Lots looking around for some storage tubs for KidPak, but also for a table for our back deck too.  The hunt is on, and we need to get busy preparing for our summer months outside!  Afterwards, we went over to the Racetrak to use some more of our free points up - we're still going on that.  We stop by there frequently to get free stuff, over and over and over again, usually a drink for Maddie or roller grill item.  But today, Mom was with us, and the three of us each got some frozen yogurts or ice creams in a small cup, decorating the tops of each with chocolate sprinkles, gummies and all kinds of sweets.

We got home and pulled out the Super Mario LIFE board game, and that was pretty fun.  It was very, very close!  Mom wound up winning, but it was one of those games where it could have gone any way, as we all had the same amount of stars and were all racing each other to battle Bowser at the end.  Mom had already faced off and lost against him the first time, so it was much more satisfying to fight him once more and win at the end.

Maddie and I were watching some television after that - we've been watching "Ultimate Spider-man" lately, a fun show.  After that, it was time for bed of course.  We read from our latest Kingdom Keepers book some, and said our prayers.  Time to get some sleep!
