Peter Pan & Wendy

We were back in Neverland tonight, or at least a version of Neverland that the latest Peter Pan movie was showing us.  Disney had a new movie, "Peter Pan & Wendy," and of course given the source material, we were all about setting aside an evening to watch that.  It was an okay movie overall - Maddie thought the 2003 story was much, much better.  We tend to agree with her, as that version seems to stick to the basic plot line much better, whereas there were quite a few deviations in the original story with this latest release.  While that was interesting, it didn't necessarily make the current movie better.  Although again it wasn't a terrible movie - it was just a Neverland we weren't particularly enthused to go back and visit as much.  Still, we might be watching a few more "Neverland" movies soon, because why not?

Tonight Maddie did have a couple classes of taekwondo, and on the way back home we stopped and picked up a lot of ice cream.  We got all kinds of flavors, stocking the freezer with things like tiramisu maple ice cream, butter pecan, and chocolate mint.  We were enjoying some ice cream cones, and some gluten-free cones for Mom too, all while watching the movie.

It was a busy day today.  Maddie had her last day at the campus for a week or so, as next week is virtual.  This is well-timed.  Tests are coming up very soon.  She brought home a lot of artwork, which we'll scan and post here - it's all work she's created this year at the school, including that one that was hanging up at the FoCal Center.

While Maddie was at school, we were setting up a lot for our Weird Science service this weekend, plus Mother's Day, plus Summer Xtreme, the next series at KidPak, preschool, and all kinds of other things.  It was a busy, busy day at work.  I'm still on the treadmill, but this morning the blood pressure was super low for some reason.  I've been on the treadmill a lot lately, getting ready for some sort of future event, hopefully maybe a 5K at Castaway Cay.  That's the pipe dream, anyway.  Anyway, we caught another squirrel this morning, because they're relentless.  This would be number eleven.  There are still others out there though, and so we'll just keep transporting them to the sanctuary.  Today at the church, I saw a few in the woods and on the grounds, and I'm assuming they're the transplants, but I don't know.

It was a good day today.  We closed out with reading and with prayers, also reading from our devotional.  We went to bed early tonight, because we have got a monster weekend ahead of us, one that ends up at a pretty big concert.  You know the one.
