Here we Go!

Maddie had a big day today, a long one, and it started out at the dentist.  No, we don't have pictures for that one, and it didn't go as well for Maddie as she in fact has a small cavity.  We'll have to come back to the dentist tomorrow, which of course isn't fun.  But we made up for that with a fun trip with FCY to start out "Fun Week."  It was a destination called ""Main Event," where there are video games and bowling, and pizza of course.

It was a really fun trip.  Maddie got a ride with some of the FCY volunteers back to the church, and that's where the rest of the day got going, and this was a pretty long part of the day too.  We had our first rehearsals for the upcoming Easter production.  Maddie took a few of these pictures below of the production practices.

I brought my camera too.  I'm playing the part of James at the Last Supper again, with parts throughout the production.  But Maddie is now also doing a role during the live segment, one of the cheering crowd at Palm Sunday.  We don't have any pictures of that, as we were actually participating in it.  But here are a few other pictures we took throughout the night:

As you can see here, Mom is getting costumes and props ready - it's a massive undertaking.  She's still sewing late into the night, making costumes and back-up costumes and meeting so many last-minute changes from the top and alterations and so on.  Stuff is still coming in from the mail, make-up, shoes, costumes, props, material, and so on.  

It was the first of many late nights this week, the start of something so huge.  We'll do a lot of practices tomorrow and the next day, and by the weekend, I think this production will be the best ever.

Tonight we started a new Discworld book, "The Last Hero," a story that comes with pictures drawn of characters and places.  The pictures thus far are not what Maddie was picturing for locations or people.  And that's okay, of course.  It's a shorter story, but it features Rincewind somewhat and should be fun to go through.

Tonight we said our prayers, and soon enough we were asleep, quite exhausted!
