Another Rehearsal

These pictures were taken by Maddie - just a few, but more to come - from today's practices.  There's been a lot of behind-the-scenes work today for the Easter Production.  We're pretty much letting KidPak get taken care of by our more-than-capable friends Bailee and Tytus as most of us focus entirely on Easter.  Camille is make-up for not just Jesus but all the dancers and actors involved, and of course she'll lead a team in that direction.  Meanwhile, Mom and I are coordinating actors and costumes and props.  Pastor Lance is of course overseeing all of it, along with a few others.  And yeah, I forgot that I co-wrote the thing, or at least the words you'll hear our lead say as she tells the greatest story ever told.

Today we had a practice for the Last Supper, moving in props and rehearsing the actual scene itself, and then later on tonight, we were back doing the entire production, this time with the dancers coming in to rehearse their portions.  It's a lot.  We had palms ready for the Palm Sunday sequence, and a lot of movement throughout as we went through two cycles of rehearsal.  Mom has been super, super busy throughout, sewing, sewing and more sewing.  So many costumes this year, and new material, and new ideas.

She's been doing this for weeks now, and once Monday comes it will be a nice moment to just rest and relax.  I don't think people full grasp how much she does for each of these, but I see it each day, and so does Maddie.  The ironing board is out and the two "battle rooms" are set up, one for sewing and one for staging.  It's a lot of work for her, and she's keeping up with it.

Maddie had some subs from Jersey Mike's today, which is probably the closest thing to New Jersey she's ever experienced.  That's my hope, actually.  I think that was her first sub from the place, and like everyone else, we enjoyed the food tonight for the volunteers.  It was a long night.

We closed it all out, going home and getting some rest.  We read tonight, reading about the adventures of Cohen the Barbarian and his Silver Horde, and then saying our prayers afterwards, and falling asleep rather quickly.  Just a few days to go until the production!
