Draw!

Madison did this picture from memory - not looking at a picture of Mickey Mouse either.  She draws quite frequently, making pictures of all sorts of things.  Lately it has been mermaids and castles, or whatever character she's into at the time.  Sometimes it is Marvel superheroes and other times it is Barbie ballerinas.  Madison really loves the Barbie movies, from the fairy stories to the twelve dancing princesses.  The dancing ones seem to be her thing though.

Speaking of which, we finally got our ballerina portraits in the mail - this after Mommy's repeated attempts at asking.  We ordered these last May, along with a DVD of the performance.  We watched Madison's performance tonight, and Daddy started to work on editing a version of it together.  That may show up here later, but not tonight!

We went swimming today for a while.  Madison made her trip across the pool again, and did a lot of splashing.  She loves blowing water through those large pool noodles, shooting it out at other people.  Mainly Daddy!  She loves being in the pool, and would honestly stay there all day if she could.  Daddy was starting to feel the effects of the sun after about an hour, so we made it an hour-long visit this time. Which is really quite enough when you think of it.  But in Madison's eyes, it was quite a short visit!

We got back home, and had some fun with Legos for a while.  First, we watched a Lego movie that our friend Josh got us.  Surprise, surprise though:  inside this DVD was a free ticket to Legoland in Atlanta for Madison.  Yes, we'll certainly be making a trip now.  Saving it for a rainy day though - these days lately have been too nice to do some sort of massive indoor thing.

We did some Lego games on the X-box afterwards, just to keep the theme going - which was fun.  Madison can keep playing those all night.  Really, a perfect day for her would be swimming all morning and playing video games all day and into the night.  Throw a whole lot of pizza and ice cream, and you've got all the perfect ingredients for the best day ever!

Meanwhile, Daddy is still preparing for the new series coming this weekend.  The booklet is now officially done, and ready to go.  All the messages are prepared, but there is plenty left to do.  I suspect you'll be hearing more and more about this as the week goes by.  That, and the big event on Thursday.  Can you believe school starts on Thursday?  Where did the time go?
