Gummy Bears at the Art Gallery

We had plans tonight to go to taekwondo as usual, when Maddie told us that she just found out her artwork was hanging up at the FOCAL Center down in Cumming.  We didn't know which piece it was, but assumed it might have been the gummy bear project she'd been working on, as her teacher was quite pleased with it.  There was somewhat of a reception there tonight, or at least a gathering of all the parents and teachers, so we decided to pack our things and head down there to the center.

There were a lot of other people down there, and it wasn't too far of a journey out of our way.  Maddie had a funny comment - this was our third visit to the center, and Maddie said that this was the first time we went there without any mention of Nazis.  You see, the first time we went here was to hear from a survivor of the Holocaust.  The second time we were there was to see The Sound of Music.  So yeah, it was a funny observation...!  Anyway, here below is Maddie's artwork, hanging up on the second floor.

And we took just a few other pictures of other pieces along the way too, walking around and looking at all the Forsyth County high school and middle school artwork.

It was a nice trip over there, a different sort of change of plans.  Maddie just had her testing, so she was ready to take a very small break from taekwondo, and it was nice to see all the artwork over there.

We visited Nana earlier today, and she was in a very pleasant mood this afternoon, which was super encouraging of course.  We did some work while there, changing sheets and so on, but it was nice to see her settling in a bit more, and more comfortable.

Tonight we were reading before bed, of course, deep Down Under, at least on the Discworld.  The adventure has started, with Rincewind and other faculty finding themselves in the Lost Continent of XXXX.  We read from our devotional too, a blast from the past for me, as I wrote this thing some time ago.  It's fun to remember some of these old video game entries and stories as I read them.

It was a good day today.  Maddie was getting some homework done and there was time for a Mario Party and some relaxing.  We said our prayers, and soon enough, we were all off to sleep, ready for one of the greatest holidays ever tomorrow...!
