Tuesday With Sunset

Maddie took these pictures tonight and came up with the title for today's blog, "Tuesday with Sunset," which seems appropriate enough.  It was a nice quiet sunset tonight, quite nice and really comfortable outside too.  We were on our way over to get some pictures taken of Maddie for her passport, which we'll get a little later on this week, or at least start the whole process.  We'll see how long all that takes.

It was a quiet night tonight.  We were playing some video games, and I really wanted to watch "Jimmy Neutron" this evening, so by gum, that's what we did.  It was established that this is my midlife crisis stage, whereas instead of going out to get a new corvette or something, I instead revert to watching "Jimmy Neutron" and other programming similar to that.  I still enjoy cartoon movies though - so what of it?  Right?  Leave me alone!  Seriously, that was a fun movie, and it has a lot of great jokes in it.  In fact, Maddie recognize one ongoing joke I do quite a bit at KidPak, and I've completely forgotten where it came from until I saw it again tonight.  Thank you, Sheen!

Maddie is working on a scratchboard, which is a kind of art where you scratch away a layer of black to create lines beneath, making an image that you'll see soon enough.  Sounds like fun!  Today was Chick-Fil-A breakfast biscuit morning, which basically means if you remember to have money in the car drop-off line, you can buy a chicken biscuit.  Which... we finally remembered!  We usually remember right about the time we see chicken sandwiches in the car line, which is of course too late.  But today we both got to enjoy a nice big breakfast!

I'm super excited about this upcoming weekend's message, which is all about Thwomps.  I'm not kidding.  This message is all about those stone characters from Mario, and it's going to be super fun.  We've been filming something where we're all outside in the parking lot fleeing in terror from the assault of a what appears like an army of descending Thwomps.  And on top of that, there's a skit I've gotten done where Mario and his friends have an encounter with a Thwomp on stage - so we're making a Thwomp costume too.  The message is all about not looking down on people and not wanting to stone people, as the Pharisees were.  It's going to be a really fun weekend!

Tonight we read again, and we're so close on being done with this latest book.  I think we're reading "The Last Continent" next.  We also read from our devotional which has been fun to return to.  We said our prayers, and of course there was the treadmill walking and the arm exercises and watching a few videos in bed... and after that... sleep was right there waiting for us all.
