Team Edge GTMA

It was a dress rehearsal this morning for Team Edge, and in addition to that there's a new mural on the wall with the GTMA logo on it.  So I asked to take some group shots of everyone, and of course along the way I was snapping pictures of the team in action.  Below I have mostly the pictures of Maddie and the group.

It was a pretty full practice - they're going to perform their routine next week twice, once on Wednesday and once on Thursday.  Both times for the younger students.  Also, Maddie is testing Monday, so it's a big week for taekwondo.

Today we were out and about, shopping for a few things for Nana, for KidPak, and for us.  We stopped by Goodwill for a tiny bit, and then we were over at Bed, Bath and Beyond, which is sadly going out of business.  That was where Mom and I registered for our wedding twenty three years ago - I remember going about in the Buford location, zapping everything with my registration gun.  Most places have taken away that gun for registering things with, and that took the guys out of the process, because most guys like to shoot things or at least carry around a fancy laser gun blasting products that their future wives want to have as gifts for the wedding.  Anyway, it was a somewhat sentimental walk around the place, certainly a last goodbye to the location in Gainesville.

We also used a gift card today, stopping by on our 2023 Barbecue World Tour, where we're looking for the best ribs in the area.  Mom and I shared a whole rack, and even Maddie got in on the action, trying some ribs after eating a pulled barbecue sandwich herself.  We had the Brunswick stew, baked beans, and even a side of potato salad too.  We were at the Smokehouse Barbecue restaurant, using a gift card I got for Mom for Christmas.  We enjoyed the meal quite a bit, and the atmosphere too.  Thumbs up, but Mom's favorite ribs meals have come from - get this - Cheddars, and a guy cooking up ribs there on the spot at the Sautee Pottery Festival in northern White County.  Those were pretty good!  Again, these were good too - but we're going to different places throughout the area to check them all out, and I'm happy to report that Maddie likes ribs and may be adding that to her menu now.

Tonight we got home and watched "Peter Pan," the version from 2003.  Maddie had this on her wish list to watch, and we all actually enjoyed it, not having seen it for a few years.  There's a new live-action Peter Pan movie coming out soon, and I'm not entirely sure how that's going to be, but the trailer looks decent.  The studio making the movie has been a little off lately, so we'll wait and see, whereas we used to just rush out and see things from them.  Nevertheless, we have a little bit of cautious optimism about this new movie coming out soon, as we love pretty much everything from Neverland.  The live action movie from 2003 is pretty underrated if you ask us - they did a great job with it.

We said our prayers tonight after reading from devotional and Discworld.  We're heading to bed earlier tonight, because we have a big service tomorrow morning at KidPak!
