While You Were Sleeping

Camille was nice enough to donate a good amount of her own clothing that she was willing to pass along, and she's of smaller stature, so it all worked out that Madison has a decent batch of new clothing!  She arranged a small fashion show this afternoon for Mom and Nana, who watched as she paraded out, trying one thing on after another.  The girls were out for a few destinations today, including some holiday shopping for Christmas cards - they look great! - and other visits too.  One bank we've been trying to go to has had locations closed the last few attempts, which is curious.  We can only assume it is related to the recent pandemic?

Anyway, meanwhile, I was writing, and decorating one set for Christmas.  Check out our play area for the younger ones!  I helped decorate this one, which we'll use next week for filming some of our KidPak online games.  I brought Bob the LEGO guy down there just to help fill some space, and he seems to fit in with the wackiness of the decorations.  Those are in fact bouncing balls hanging from the ceiling by fishing wire.  Yeah, it's a big crazy.  Anyway, it turned out well, and should look good on computers!

Madison finished the puzzle today, and it turned out well, a nice little Victorian Christmas image.  We'll have to move on to another puzzle, as this one was pretty popular and we went through it together rather quickly!

Well, there's a pandemic, but the parade is still on tomorrow, sort of.  Also, the goat is still going up in Sweden, and there's a livestream of that too.  We may just watch it, in all its Swedish glory.  Today we were looking for things that are happening, amongst all that's cancelled.  We may be trying out a few new Christmas-themed destinations this year.  Sadly, the local movie theater is not one of them.  Our last visit in March was our last visit ever, apparently.  Although new management may come along and purchase the cinema.  That seems unlikely, given the indefinite nature of this whole thing.  We haven't been to the theater to see a movie in quite some time, and that is by no means our choice.  We may have to drive a little further to do just that, and soon, but for the time being, we're disappointed in this theater's closing.  It's where we've always taken Madison her whole life.  There were other theaters, of course, but this was our "go to" theater.  That "free refill" bucket didn't quite work out this year...

Meanwhile my friends from school are losing their jobs too.  The other day someone remarked how they in fact got sick, and how the pandemic is real.  But they got better quickly, I noted.  And my friends have lost their jobs.  One good friend lost his job at the Cartoon Network, having been there for fifteen years.  I remember him really looking forward to and really trying to seek out that job for a few years.  And yet things continue on this path, for "the safety of everyone."  Your compliance will be rewarded.

Tonight we watched another movie that you might not think is a "Christmas movie," but it takes place over Christmas and New Year's - it's "While You Were Sleeping."  We were just covering a lot of ground with our Christmas movies, and pulled this one out of the February playlist a little early.  Madison hadn't seen this one before and thought it was fun.  We've always enjoyed this one - it's just been a while since we've seen it.  We might add this one to the Christmas list, but it's great any time of year.

We closed out the evening with a few more chapters from our book about Nicholas St. North - it's been a fun and easy read, and one of those books where we get to the end of a chapter, and it's occasionally challenging to put the book down versus reading another chapter.  We should be done with this one fairly quickly, in fact!

We said our prayers tonight, and were in bed again, falling asleep a little earlier.  Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, and it'll be a nice day!
