Martial Arts and Squirt Guns

Ah, water day!  This is one of the highlights of any summer camp, and Madison had a great time with the other kids in the summer sun, doing all kinds of water games.  She's tossing a sponge-type item here, and of course everyone's getting wet with that.  But they were doing all kinds of other games as well, and then came the inevitable squirt gun fights too.  She had a great day, doing Nerf gun battles and the Ninja Obstacle course as well.  There's a lot to do, and she's been really having a great time this week with all the others.  Getting up early has been a sudden adjustment though!

Tonight the International Space Station was highly visible, flying right over our house.  Attached to it was the space craft that we watched take off recently, along with the new astronaut residents.  At 9:53, for three minutes it soared overhead from one side of the sky to the other, a brilliant light moving steadily overhead.

We've been working on our Summer Xtreme series today, and that meant finishing up the sermon booklet.  I'm done with that, and tomorrow I'll wrap up the devotional for this as well.  Both have turned out well.  We're doing videos as well, and games too.  It's been a busy time, but it's been positive.

Tonight we were reading again, this time finishing up our Pirates tale.  We watched the second episode of season seven of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."  It's been a blast!  Anytime you can put a Tommy gun into Agent Coulson's hands, things will go well.

The three of us are in that guest room, just like Mommy and Daddy were at the beginning of this series, huddled together watching the next part of the Marvel story play out.  If you think about it, this is the last piece of the first three phases, the television show that took place simultaneous to the show, or at least was aired on television at the same time.  Sometimes there would be cinematic tie-ins, but those are more rare.  Madison is enjoying the show though, and again, each episode is a step closer to the end of it all.  But here's the deal:  Madison hasn't seen the first five seasons, so we may start on those soon enough.

We spoke with the grandparents in Florida today, and they seem to be doing better.  Fatigue is the overwhelming symptom for Ba-Ba, and that's not a bad thing.  That makes sense, and is certainly better than many other symptoms.  He's on week two of the chemotherapy, and his spirits are up, at least when talking to the three of us.  We were all on FaceTime with one another, so we could see each other's faces.  They sit on the couch and look at the monitor, as the three of us look on one of the iPads here.  We talked a good while, catching up about everything going on with us, locally, and with the world.  Lots still going on there.

We prayed for Ba-Ba tonight, afterwards.  We're grateful he's still fighting this and by all appearances, things seem to be going better.  Obviously, this isn't coming from a doctor.  It's just that his character is so strong - he's going to fight this, and he wants to move up here when it's all said and done.  We want that too, of course, and look forward to that day.
