Day Two of Adventure Camp

Here's a small picture, a small part of another computer screen capture of another Zoom meeting.  But this time we're having it in the office, and some of us are on the same table.  It's sort of an after effect of the last few months - we're sticking with the Zoom thing to talk with others, as in the past, we've just generally had people on one television screen or worse, on a cell phone in the middle of a conference table.  This way is sort of like some sort of superhero movie, with virtual people at the table there.  But it worked out for us.  We were talking about Summer Xtreme a good bit, as it is getting closer.  Meanwhile, also getting close is Forward.  There are a lot of online opportunities coming up from the church, but also of course a lot of opportunities at the church itself, in the form of food handouts and of course donations to the Bloodmobile.

Today was the second day of camp, and thus far it's been a bit hit.  Madison is getting more proficient with her Nerf gun, which is something new in her life, and may lead to other armaments in the future.  We might have someone like Reba McEntire's character from "Tremors" in our family line.  I can see Madison now, jumping out from cover with her Nerf machine gun blazing, tiny Nerf darts flying everywhere.  Okay, she's not that into it yet, but she's certainly enjoying the camp.

It was Taco Tuesday today, and that was not to be missed of course.  We had our tacos today, and they were lovingly prepared with all the fixings placed on the table, creating a glorious vista to come home to.  Madison only cares about two toppings:  meat, and hot sauce.  That's about all that goes on her taco.  And with the hot sauce, it's generally enough to make the meat itself disappear.  Daddy loves the diced onions and other toppings that Mommy prepares.  We have some items growing in the back yard now, or on the back porch, and so having a bit of that as a topping makes the meal more meaningful.  For example, we've had our own parsley on things, and mint on things, and other vegetables growing as well.  Soon enough, we'll have those tomatoes too!

Tonight we were watching "Suite Life on Deck," which has some great lines and jokes in it.  Madison is enjoying this show a lot, and suddenly we're finding ourselves binge-watching a new sitcom.  We'll be starting another show soon enough as well.

Well, as could be expected, we're all tired tonight.  Getting up earlier tends to do that.  Still we made time for prayers of course.  And we did hide-and-seek and also did some reading from our pirate book.  We're drawing to an end with the book, so the big question is what to read next?  We have a few items as ideas, including a return to Narnia, or a visit with the Bromeliad Trilogy, or the Kingdom Keepers.  But the one we may hit on next... is an introduction for all of us to a guy named Artemis.  We'll see...
