Madison had a bit of a cooking class this morning, as Mommy was showing her an introduction to a new class for this summer called "Home Economics." You might not remember this sort of class, but it's basically life skills, and in the past there was more of a focus on women learning things like cooking and so on. But it's great to see this is being taught to guys as well, and that it doesn't matter what gender or age you are. To quote Auguste Gusteau, "Anyone can cook."
And so Madison - with a lot of help from Mommy - made those brownies you see above. She was doing a bit of cooking today. Meanwhile, Daddy was filming things everywhere. We filmed more for Summer Xtreme again, the last of it really. We filmed at Gwinnett Campus to start out with, and then along Lake Lanier. Then we were filming in Gainesville again. All in all, another three videos, plus the three the day before, plus the ten from the weekend, and the eleven from just before that... lots of videos going together for Summer Xtreme.
Madison took this picture of her pillowcases. She got some Porg pillowcases for her birthday, and a new porg as well. After an online discussion, debate, and vote, the porg sitting next to Baby Yoda is named... Joey. I have no idea why. But Joey it is!
We found this old picture of the Big Three of Summer Xtreme. We're the ones that sort of guide the event from year to year - this picture is about four or five years old as of this writing, but I hadn't see it before. I forgot we even took it. I'm surprised we were all out actually doing something during Summer Xtreme, to be honest. It must be from Gwinnett's Summer Xtreme. Because we're usually still frantically putting things together so much that there's never time to sit back and enjoy the thing as much as the kids do. It's obviously worth it - people are posting pictures like this left and right on social media, as reminders of the epic yearly event that their kids love to go to. It is sorely missed. The online experience will be nice though - it's been fun putting together. But it's nothing like meeting in person, just like all things I suppose.
Tonight we continued our reading of Artemis Fowl, and we also watched a few more episodes of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," all leading up to the season finale. Now that Madison knows Grant Ward is a traitor, things are really crazy. It's fun watching all this come apart again, and watching Madison's reaction as things occur. We just found out about Skye's parents, something Madison knows a little about, this based on the LEGO game she played a while back. We'll be starting off season two soon enough, when we get to meet them. Nice folks. Not really.
We prayed tonight, and there was hide-and-seek as always. It was a calmer day today for Madison and Mommy, and I was working quite a bit, which is "just like old times" when it comes to Summer Xtreme. But we're putting something together that I think will be pretty nice. Everyone should be able to see it pretty soon.
