Birds Nest

Both of our porch lights have some additional decorations this week, this thanks to a few hopeful birds that had plans to share our residence.  We'll have to see what comes of this, as it's not exactly the most ideal setting.  Although it does make our front porch lights look a bit more organic.  It's a nice decoration!

We made some plans today for Madison's birthday party, which is always in the midst of so much, and this year is no different.  But the day after Rank Camp, she'll be having a birthday party at a nearby mini-golf course.  The goal is just to have fun with friends again, something she hasn't done in so long.  Some of the ones coming she hasn't seen in person since early March.  This is because of all the false information about the virus, of course, about people who are asymptomatic passing along the virus, and about touching surfaces and all that.  To think, they had us all spooked so much about that, and as a result we closed down the world that easily.  Makes you wonder what our collective reaction will be when something a little more serious comes along.  Not saying this wasn't serious, of course.  But the reaction to this, however, may have been more than what is necessary.  Arguments can be made on both sides.  But the the recent report from what are supposed to be reliable sources about asymptomatic carriers is somewhat a relief, while also being somewhat annoying.  It's a relief, because I can send Madison to Rank Camp today without worrying about passing some hidden virus on to others.

Madison was at Rank Camp, as just mentioned.  It was the second day, and it was a longer day because Madison chose to attend the taekwondo class afterwards, increasing her education a bit.  And also wearing her out more!

It rained a lot today.  There were heavy downpours sporadically through the day, these little dots on the weather radar, all moving northeast rather rapidly.  This is all related to a tropical depression or storm that came up the Gulf of Mexico, and into Louisiana and Mississippi.  We got a lot of that rain as a side effect, and it came down heavily.  It also was super humid today.

Madison could hear the rain the rooftop of the studio today, but despite the strength of the storms, there wasn't anything seriously damaged.  We just saw debris in various places, leaves and branches and so forth.  When it was time to pick up Madison, we were in between storms, and all was safe.

Madison was understandably wiped out getting home, and is reconsidering going to class on Thursday as well - it makes for a long day of working out!  We'll cross that bridge when we get to it.

Speaking of "bridge," tonight we saw a few episodes of season one of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."

During one bathroom break, we paused it on the opening screenshot before the second episode.  It made for a great screen saver!

Anyway, we watched "Repairs" and "The Bridge."  I remember watching that last one, and remembered what a cliffhanger it was, and how we had to wait a couple weeks to find out what happened next.  We tried putting Madison in our shoes.  Of course she knows pretty much all the characters will be okay - although there are question marks and asterisks by a few.  But still, she was left wanting to watch the next one... she'll have to wait.  Sorry!

We read some more tonight, and did hide-and-seek, and said our prayers.  We're still waiting to hear back about the test results of a co-worker.  That determines if we go back to the office or not, or if we are instead kept in self-quarantines.  We'll see.  That's one thing we were praying for, one person we were praying for.  That, and of course Ba-Ba.  He's taking a week off of chemotherapy to build up his blood count.  Hopefully we can get to a place for another round next week.
