Pickleball

We had a bit of pickle ball today, which is something like a cross between tennis a ping-pong.  The balls are Wiffle balls, a word that spellcheck refuses to acknowledge.  The rackets are paddles, and the court itself is a lot smaller than a standard tennis court.

You can see Ba-ba giving Madison a bit of instruction here, helping her learn how to serve.  We had a bit of two-on-two today, and it was a lot of fun actually.  Madison had a great time, even though she was just learning it.  She had a few great shots in there, starting to get the hang of the game over time.  It was her first time with pickle ball, and Daddy's too!

The day was a relaxing one.  It was cool and rainy in the morning, but you can see how things certainly cleared up by early afternoon.  The ocean waves were rough all day.  This morning, we had a neat experience of seeing a pod of dolphins roaming the seas a little further out.  There were a lot of dolphins out there, certainly more than ten.  We were watching them surface, with a few of them coming closer to shore.  Other than pelicans, that was the only thing out there earlier on.  It was chilly and occasionally rainy.

Later on, people started to come out a bit, after all it is spring break.  But not as many as this past weekend, according to Ba-ba.  We were over at the pickle ball courts.

We got back and did some reading, and Daddy was doing a bit of work for this weekend.  We had Taco Tuesday the proper way, and did our usual routine of watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, this time while enjoying a do-it-yourself ice cream sundae!

Nana had all the ingredients put out on the counter, and we all enjoyed ourselves some ice cream.  It's something I'm sure we'll be enjoying more of as the week goes by.

Tonight we played dominoes for a few rounds, about five rounds, and believe it or not, everyone won a round tonight.  It was a nice tradition, seated around the dining area table there, putting dominoes into place.

We read tonight, and prayed tonight, and it won't be long before this writer is sleeping.  The sun really takes a lot from me, although the pollen hasn't been so much of a factor lately, and I'm breathing somewhat better down here.  Anyway, we're off to a good start of a nice week here!
