Today we began our "Miracles" series, another fantastic series that takes a look in the Bible at some miracles of Jesus. You can see above that we acted out this on stage with our dramas, and you can see how we found a guy to play the part of Jesus, who did really good. His name is TJ, and he's the one who led us down the Chattahoochee River last summer on kayaks.
He was in his element on the river, but here on stage, he was quite nervous, wanting to make absolutely sure he did everything just right. He did really well, and was so perfect! His performance was spot-on, as were the performances of all the others on stage. We acted out the miracle at the Pool of Bethesda this weekend, with a little bit of comedy in there from Nerdo, who played our angel. But afterwards, Jesus walked in, and of course that's the moment he showed us how to walk.
It was a special start to a very important season, one where we're focusing completely on Jesus and his ministry. Next week is Palm Sunday, and after that Easter, so we'll be doing something really great, with many more cast members. We'll see as the time draws nearer how many we'll have. Today's Acting Up class showed us there are a lot of people interested though!
Here's Madison and several others on the "Characterization Bus" again for our fourth acting class. It was a great time for everyone, with a focus on improv today. There are purposes for improv and focuses with it, and ways to make it better. Of course, there were plenty of opportunities to actually apply what we learned, with this skit above and others. There are a lot of people coming to this class, including some new visitors from our Cumming campus. We had a great time, and were setting things up for the future. Mommy will be costuming a lot of folks in Bible costumes!
Today was a great, full day at church, and we're grateful to have this place to use what gifts we have. Madison was serving this morning, putting books and pencils in place, straightening chairs and making sure things were ready for the rest of the kids. She wasn't on stage for the morning service, actually sitting in through the whole thing for worship and the message. And she was back in the audience to sit and watch the skit, which went really well as described above.
Afterwards, we were home for a bit where Madison did some piano, and practiced for the Milestones testing coming up later on this week. Also, we were unpacking a bit, and yes, eating too. We all sat down together to watch "Stargate" tonight, which Madison hasn't seen before. Daddy's lungs are sore right now, so some medication was called for tonight, after which it was pretty quickly realized that a good night's rest was in order.
We read a bit before bed, and said our prayers, thankful for the nice spring break. We had a good time, but there's a lot to do coming up here. We'll get busy here, but it was good to be away with family for a bit.
