The weather was much better today, although the waves have been pretty choppy, as you can see above. There was a nice sea breeze that cooled things down, so we made a little trip out to what is now Madison's favorite mini-golf course down here, the Congo River course.
The three of us had a great time there - Madison always likes playing mini-golf. Mommy actually won today, although everyone made some great shots here and there. And yes, there were the gasping, just-missed kind of shots too. But all in all it was a lot of fun, and the course itself is nice to walk around.
There were a good number of people there, but we never had to wait too long for the next hole. The weather was just right so that we never really minded sitting out there from time to time, taking in the course and enjoying the nice day out there. And when done, we went out to visit the gators!
This was nice because there was a guy there who gave his alligator food to Madison, who got to feed the gators for free! I mean, it's not like it's something that we've just got to do each visit. But it was still fun. This little gator here was a little hungry!
Afterwards, we went over to Wad-Mart to pick up a copy of "Mary Poppins Returns," something the whole family watched tonight. It was just as good as the last time we saw it, although the first time seeing it for the grandparents, who enjoyed it as well.
It was a good day today. Just sitting on the beach, Daddy was reading "Equal Rites," a book by Terry Pratchett. Mommy was conversing with her parents, and Madison was doing a little bit of everything, including some games on her handheld device. There's this one subway route game she's been playing a lot lately - she plays that while listening to her favorite music with her headphones on.
Daddy was working on that yearbook page for Chestatee Elementary, and in addition to that he wrote a message for Summer Xtreme, which should be pretty good. It was a little cool, but with a sweatshirt, it was nice sitting out on the balcony, watching surfers and patrolling pelicans as we read or wrote or just sat and looked out at the open sea.
We read tonight before going to bed, and we're approaching the end of this next adventure with Peter Pan and his friends. We've lost Lord Aster, and things look grim here. But with a little faith, hope and pixie dust, things will work out. We all went to bed nice and early tonight, getting a lot of good rest this week.
If only Daddy's lungs could get a little more empty. Just because you're in Florida doesn't mean there are no allergies and pollen down here. A little bit of medicine is helping out, along with some sweets from Nana and Ba-Ba. Yes, of course, as we learn from Mary Poppins herself, a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down...
