Stained Glass Window Craft

So these are the finished products of our craft we did tonight at KidPak.  The top one is the creation that Madison made, and it was so much fun that Daddy was making one in class too, the one at the bottom.  All the kids came away with something like this, and it was a nice craft.  The creation of it didn't take too long, but oy!  The setting up sure did!  Each one of these took about 3-4 minutes to cut out, and we have a lot of kids on small groups night.  But the end result turned out really nice.

Madison was so wanting to come tonight, and that she did.  It wasn't too late of a night, so it all worked out.  She was with the other 5-6th graders, together working on these cross crafts, and also going over a few other lesson plans we were coming up with.  There was a discussion about the cross at Notre Dame, as well as the "Crown of Thorns" galaxy, something that shows God's tremendous power - and of course, the only thing that can compare to that power is His love for each of us.  We played the track from the Luray Caverns organ, the song "Amazing Grace" on an instrument that really show how the rocks cry out.  We had a lot of other things tonight too, just as we do each Wednesday night.  It's somewhat of a brainstorming party on Monday and Tuesday, and by the time Wednesday is here, we have so much going on that we actually don't get to all of it in a single class period.

Today was a fun day for Madison.  We were talking about statistics, and here is the data she was collecting:  the amount of time each student spends on a personal device each day.  It is a tremendous amount - quite shocking.  It's actually leading to a Summer Xtreme message, really.

We were meeting about the Easter festival upcoming.  It's going to be chilly this weekend, so ironically, Daddy's one fear - being too warm inside that Easter Bunny costume - is all taken care of!  Of course, we're hoping the weather isn't too cold for everyone to come out.  And we're hoping it doesn't rain either.  A lot of plans have been made for this event, and there's been a lot of physical work in setting it all up.

Madison's school day was fun.  She had a little trivia game in one class that she got a right answer on:  she was so excited about that.  Maybe some day she'll be on a game show!

We read tonight and prayed tonight.  It was a tough day in some respects, with a significant "transition" at work.  Our set guy is moving on, which leaves us with some challenges at KidPak in the following months.  There'll be some definite changes in plans now, none of it expected.  But we'll be good - we've always moved on well enough, and hopefully that will be the case in the coming months.
