Lava in the Afternoon

We woke up this morning, and it was six hours behind in Hawaii, as it usually is.  But the lava is still spewing out of the fissures there, and it's somewhat relaxing to watch, strangely.  The sound of nature is all around, birds and crickets chirping, the pitter-patter of rainfall, and the fountain of bright orange illuminating the night.  The rooster is not up yet, but when he crows, the chatrooms watching this event go crazy.

We've been slightly stuck on watching lava in the afternoon, which is a nice segue for those of you who are familiar with the music tracks of the movie "The Incredibles."

This is the Anderson family, and they delivered an... INCREDIBLE message tonight at KidPak.  Our character of the week was Dash, and they did a fantastic job finding clips from the movie, and illustrations on stage.  The entire message was based on Hebrews 12:1, and it was ... here we go again... INCREDIBLE.

Earlier today, Nana and Ba-Ba left for Florida. They're doing it in stages though, rather than driving all the way down.  The drive is a long one, but they made the journey just for Madison, which was sweet.

The rain has been heavy this week, and it is supposed to get heavier as a tropical depression is going to pay a visit at Memorial Day weekend.  Can you believe we're already at Memorial Day weekend?  It'll be here soon.  But first things first:  it was the last Wednesday at Chestatee Elementary School for Madison, and it was "twin" day.  Madison and the other students were asked if they'd ever want a twin, and it was a fun hypothetical question.  Given that we've submitted her DNA to a couple of online resources, she's the most likely of all the students to suddenly discover she actually has a twin sister or brother.  It's not really probable, of course.  But with science and technology reaching new places as far away as China, it's entirely possible that she'll discover her family some day.  Is there a twin out there?  Possibly, right?

It's a busy week here, and we're getting ready for so much with SX18, Madison's birthday, the final week of school, and more.  But we know what to do when getting stressed:  just go to the live lava channel there, and relax to the sights and sounds of lava in the afternoon.
