Vote for us - "Because we have more signs"

We were back at the library today, although it was somewhat fruitless of a trip - they didn't have the next book in our series, so we put a reservation in for it and they'll let us know when it arrives.  Also, we were there for early voting - but I think we were too early.  That starts Saturday, I think.  In the meantime, the phone rings and rings, and large color glossy ads keep showing up in the mail, and we're all wondering if we can make it past this election again.  The signs are everywhere!

I like this campaign poster above, because some people actually use this as a campaign strategy for victory.  There are yards out there with multiple signs - one yard we passed had seven different-sized signs in it, all for the same person.  I think the campaign slogan "Because we have more signs" would be multi-purpose too.  It's kind of similar to "likes" on social media, which with large-scale candidates aren't all real - it's just a bunch of paid-for "yes people" that make any celebrity or candidate look more popular than they really are.  Which is what multiple signs tend to do as well:  "Say, this candidate sure has a lot of signs.  I guess they're pretty popular, right?"  The other thing about this campaign slogan is that it could be perceived of as a threat.  As in, "Vote for us, or we'll put even more signs all over the county."

Anyway, we vote this weekend instead - and that's early voting, of course.  Which means, we still have quite a bit of mailers to go, and phone calls.  And signs.

Today Madison finished her electric project, and it turned out really well.  We also laid out the groundwork for our upcoming Anne Frank project.  Daddy will print a few things, and Mommy will be looking for some items from Goodwill for an Anne Frank outfit.  That's not due until next week, so we're good until then.

This morning, Mommy and Daddy drove down to Alpharetta to go to the dentist again.  We have to come back sooner than expected.  Mommy has the beginning of a cavity, and Daddy had a chipped tooth that he had no idea he had.  Madison had music today, and she spoke with her teacher there about her piano recital piece, which her teacher said is coming along nicely.  Madison practiced more today after school, and is expected to have it memorized by tomorrow night, so she can perform then for the rest of the kids.  We'll see how that goes, of course.  She's moving along, but it's getting close!

We had ballet again tonight, and Battlefront as well.  It would be great to combine the two now, wouldn't it?  We're really close to finishing book #1 of "A Series of Unfortunate Events."  Although Daddy likes to try new things, the others are wanting to go through this entire series... so I guess we'll be here with this series a few months, maybe to the end of summer?  Anyway, we read some more from this, our devotional, and then we said our prayers.  It was a good day today - things are starting to pick up though.  It's going to be a bit crazy soon with Summer Xtreme prep...
