Patriotic Season

We were doing a good bit of work today, and we were down at Braselton for a while, Mom and I.  We were happy to stop at Cracker Barrel there for a bit too, because why not?

 

Mom looks great in her holiday outfit - so patriotic!  We're in a patriotic sort of mood this week.  Got the red, white and blue on.  I'm wearing my Buc-ee's Fourth of July shirt, and we've got the patriotic tree decorated in the foyer, and the front porch looking pretty nice.  It's a Fourth of July holiday season!

So what's up with bringing out Halloween decorations already?  How crazy that they have so much Halloween merch out there in their shop.  You could hear the cackling of witches and evil laughter constantly as customers walked by the display there on the way in.  Seriously, sitting there eating I could hear faint screams and evil laughter throughout the meal.  It's not even the Fourth of July yet!

Tonight Maddie had a return to taekwondo, and we got there just in time, but Maddie had a great night there.  She's got a testing coming up in two weeks, yet another step towards getting that third degree belt.  

We got home, and we actually squeezed in two episodes of "The Chosen," and things of course are getting intense.  Judas is meeting with the Pharisees, and how cool to see Nicodemus back!  We'll see what's going on with about three episodes left, but it's been good.  Emotional, but good.

Tonight we read from our Discworld book, and after that we said our prayers.  Time to get some rest!
