So our actors were back up for part four today of the ongoing story at Summer Xtreme. This is of course just one small part of a massive event for the kids, but the actors - including Maddie - all did really well setting up the big mystery about who took the power cell. We really hammered home some fun lines from "Sky High," sort of squeezed in here or there as an homage to the movie. Let's just say the words "whiner baby" were used more than a few times. But the skit is going really well, and the audience is reacting to it very much so.
Also the messages are good for Summer Xtreme. We wrote those some time ago, and wow, here we are already. The videos have been really good to see - various video appearances of the Super Seven characters, who also are featured in our ongoing movies. We showed these some time ago, and yet here this next generation of kids are, enjoying it as if for the first time.
The games today were really slimy! It was a Bowser's Big Blast type of game where you have no idea which plunger it is that will result in you getting slimed.
Here's our brave contestants before the event. I snapped a photo backstage as we were setting up.
And I took these pictures of them from backstage during the game...!
So after service it was time to head to our excursion, and everyone got on those buses a little earlier today, because the were heading over to Forsyth County.
Today's destination was Stars and Strikes, so Maddie was off to that place for a fun time with her kids. She actually spent a few moments bowling with some of the kids there, and that was fun, although she admitted she wasn't doing so well towards the end. But she was having a good time there.
It was another really great day here. Maddie did well with her group, and after they were all on their cars to go home, Maddie and I went to Edge for tonight's classes there. Maddie was doing taekwondo, helping as an instructor and then later on attending her leadership class.
We got home and of course we were pretty tired. We watched a few things, and we finished up our LEGO Pirates with 100%. But yeah, we were ready for bed not too much later. Time to read from our Discworld book... time for prayers... and time for a good night's rest!
