Today we had a busy little day with lots of Summer Xtreme planning. The script is coming along fine, and there's a lot of other things to do with arrangements for kids with food, buses, destinations, microphones for actors, props, slides, video editing, meeting slides, lighting, chairs, decorations, car pick-up plans, handouts, and obviously a lot more. The booklets came in and they look great, and on top of all that Maddie is with a group now, actually a group leader. She's going to be watching over a group of four well-behaved girls in second grade, and while it is challenging and stretching for her, I know she can do it. She's a bit stressed about it, but we'v got a lot of stress going on now - all that will be gone in a little over a week when we're sitting around wondering why we were so stressed!
One thing we did that was good was have a virtual meeting with a health coach. Mom and I are going to have some meetings over the next few months, and that should be great for Mom - and me too. We'll be doing some drastic changes with diet and habits too, and this involves a good bit of detox. So here we go on that. But the meeting was just somewhat of an introduction. We'll continue meeting for the next year or so, on and off with video consultations. We'll see how that all works out!
Maddie had taekwondo tonight, and that's her longer night, but it was good. She's testing on Monday, if you can believe that. Testing right after Summer Xtreme. That's pretty crazy, but we're winding down to the third degree black belt, and that's exciting. She's knocking off these final testings, and should be good to go before the end of the year. It will be special.
So two more things - first, Mom got me a new alarm clock. And I love this thing because it makes ambient noise to help you fall asleep better. There are some odd sounds in there, but the sound of ocean waves are nice, especially the sort that just lap up there against the shoreline. It reminds us of Hawaii at our honeymoon when we'd just leave the door open a little to hear the Pacific Ocean out there.
We heard that tonight while I was reading to Maddie from our latest book. It's moving along quickly now, our story, as the dragon is really in control of Ankh-Morpork now, declaring itself as king. Yikes. Who will be brave enough to tangle with the new king? We've been enjoying this latest adventure from the Discworld. And afterwards, we said our prayers - tomorrow is a bit earlier of a day, as we have a volunteer meeting. Summer Xtreme really gets going then!
