Forward Night

Wow, what a bunch of storms tonight.  There was more concentrated lightning than I could ever remember, almost like a finale to a fireworks show north of us that lasted for well over an hour.  It was so impressive, and I definitely don't envy the folks beneath it!  We didn't get much rain, but when you see the temperature here you understand where all the energy is coming from with these storms:  it was 85 degrees at 11pm, and that was just insane.  So hot here that you just want to get inside immediately.

Maddie and Nate were at FCY tonight, but it was FCY United Night in Braselton, so that meant a little longer drive down that way.  I was going back and forth to Braselton, loading up things in the prop room down there, getting things cleaned up in time for Summer Xtreme where it can get all messed up again!

Camille and I were writing Summer Xtreme's first skit for day one today, and that went well.  Which is to say, we finished it.  These are big, complicated skits, a little more so than the usual scripts.  But this one should be a lot of fun.

Maddie was with Mom at home getting the house cleaned up, but staying indoors for sure.  Tonight we got home late of course, after that drive from Braselton.  The entire ride, the sky was lit up all around us, north and west, blasts of lightning crossing the horizon and illuminating the thunderheads towering above.  It was very impressive.

We got home, and we were tired of course.  We read tonight from our booklet, and then we said our prayers.  It's time for some sleep.  Mom said there was a little rain tonight, but certainly not what those folks had north of us.
