Coffee and Writing

Today was a work day at the coffee shop, although Maddie was off to spend the day with Nate rather quickly.  He and his mom picked up Maddie at the coffee shop, and they were off and running to a nice day together at their house.  They did a lot of video games there including Minecraft of course.  She had a good day, and we'd see her a bit later on.

Here's a neat little coloring sheet she's been working on lately, one that turned out rather well!  I think that's something I could try perhaps.  Over the last decade or so, these adult coloring sheets and booklets have been popping up, and some have themes of familiar characters or places.  That might be fun to do!

As for the meeting at Farmhouse Coffee, that went well with us working through another day of the Summer Xtreme skit, or at least the outline of it.  The idea is to sort of mimic a feeling of the Sky High movie, with students that have super powers - only they're at detention.  It's a work in progress, and we'll see how things turn out.

The unfortunate thing is that I'm not feeling too great and haven't slept well the last few nights.  I went home a bit early, and the good thing about that is Mom is there to take care of you.  I had a nice cup of tea waiting for me, and I sat down on the couch to watch the old-school classic movie "Snow White," which I  hadn't seen in years.  It was and still is so good - I guess I'm old-school, because I'm not sure what you would change with that so much.  I think the most impressive thing is the animation team's accomplishment, and how amazing it is that this got completed at all.  But then on top of that, it's a great movie.

Maddie got home, and we watched the next episode of "The Chosen" together, and that was largely it for me.  We got ready for bed, and I read another fairly big section of our Discworld book together with Maddie, and then we said our prayers.  Time for some sleep, at least for me.  Hopefully I'll be able to sleep a bit better.  Mom's gift alarm clock is very nice, something with a bit of ambient noise to it, with one of the sound effects these ocean waves that sound just as gentle as the waves we heard on our honeymoon in Kihei.  Good memories to fall asleep to!
