Tonight we celebrated Maddie's nineteenth birthday with a visit to the castle! We got tickets to Medieval Times, and had a great time there tonight cheering for our knight and eating a really good meal. Everyone enjoyed the visit there quite a bit. We walked into the lobby area and paid our respects to the king and queen, and then visited the shopping area, as well as the holding area for the falcon that would be swooping about during the show. This is Maddie's fourth time at Medieval Times, but it was a good one. We were called into our places soon enough, and we sat to enjoy our meals while watching horses dance and the hawk swoop over our heads. The knights were doing competitions with jousting poles and so forth, but our knight wasn't doing so well - you could say we were having an "off knight." Anyway, the food was served and after that the jousting began, along with a story of betrayal and a villain amongst the knights. It was all very fun, and of course we all had our crowns - and no silverware!
It was a really fun time for the four of us. I didn't snap as many pictures, although I did get a few with the cellphone beforehand, and a few shots during the production itself.
This morning we had a great service, and our skit was a lot of fun. We had a musical skit about Samuel with some great choreography from Dawn. It was a lot of fun, and the kids really seemed to enjoy it too! Maddie was there to take some pictures of our entire service, a few of which I'll share below:
It was a good birthday for Maddie, and a good Father's Day too. Maddie got me a card and a candy bar, while Mom got me a big collection of soaps. We had a few presents for Maddie, including our evening at the castle. Maddie also unwrapped a few things, including a new Funko figure of Jubilee, plus a new set of headphones so she doesn't have to use Nate's. We also got... a Playstation 4! More on that one in a bit. Right now, we're all a bit tired... we closed out the day with reading, and prayers.
