Final Draw

Tonight we finished the Kingdom Keepers series, and perhaps the last book ever written for the series, which is something like thirteen books and two novellas.  It ended with - well, perhaps I shouldn't spill that part.  But there's an ending, or is it the possibility of a resurgence of something more, if you imagine the dolls at "It's a Small World" once again coming to life.  That's possibly the most famous passage in the series, all the way back in book one, and it was fun to see that ride pop up once more, perhaps ending where things all began.  Again, perhaps.  I do think this is the last book though, and how great that the author actually signed it for us.  This one will be special in the memory banks, as we took it with us on the cruise, reading it each night at the Disney Magic.

Okay, so today was indeed a catch-up day of sorts.  Maddie had her taekwondo tonight, and we were Nate-less.  He's down at the beach with his family, and that'll be good for them.  Meanwhile, we're here in North Georgia with the same old pattern of heat and pop-up rainstorms in the afternoon.  Most of the rain showers have been a little more rough than usual, with strong winds knocking down branches.  After a while, you ponder how many branches are left to knock down - we've pretty much got the weakest branches and trees taken care of already, and yet each of these storms sends something else to the ground, as if the trees are just giving up.  Okay, okay wind!  You win!

So while Maddie was at taekwondo, I was over at the grocery store getting a zillion groceries, because we haven't shopped at the grocery store since before the cruise.  We got all caught up there, and I was proud to say I got just about everything on that list.

Tonight's movie was "Ant-Man and the Wasp," which is another great movie - we're in the midst of an Ant-man marathon.  I just love the car undercarriage joke in this one, and it pops up so much later in the movie.  It's a fun adventure - we'll continue with part three tomorrow.

We read tonight, which of course I wrote about above, and that was with the entire Plush Entourage in attendance.  Then it was time for prayers... and a good night's rest.
