Tiny Rubber Chicken

Tonight Maddie had FCY, part of a longer day here at the church.  It was a nice night - you can see her over there to the right early on.

We were at a creative team meeting earlier today, so off to the coffee shop we went once more.  We actually went to Farmhouse again, and just as we were getting there, a tremendous storm was rolling up and rolling through downtown Gainesville.  It was pretty impressive!  We had a very productive meeting there though with Dawn, Emma, Jeremiah, Camille, Maddie and myself.  I think the skits should be moving in a good direction, actually.  And the iced coffee was good too!

This morning Maddie got another gift for her birthday, a couple of them really.  But one tiny thing was literally a tiny thing - a small rubber chicken, the kind you squeeze and make noise with.  Funny gift, Camille!

Speaking of funny, tonight we watched "Stitch!  The Movie" together, a shorter Stitch movie that introduces the idea of all the other experiments that Jumba worked on, or at least the genesis of that entire series story line that goes on for a few seasons before it ends with "Leroy and Stitch."  We'll probably watch that one later, but tonight was funny watching Dr. Jacques Von Hämsterviel once again with all his great dialogue.  They just went bonkers with this character here, and it's a lot of fun.

Tonight we read more from our Discworld book before bed, meeting Carrot pretty much for the first time in the series, although Maddie has met him before in other stories we've read, little cameos here or there.  Speaking of cameos, Magrat Garlick has one here early in the novel, commenting on the remarkably unremarkable sword that Carrot is given.  We'll see what happens next as we continue reading, but it's good to be back in the Discworld once more.

We read tonight, and then we said our prayers afterwards.  Time for some sleep!
