So we did this thing today, and wow, what a day! We dropped off Maddie at school fairly early, and we went down to Duluth, where we basically spent the next thirteen to fourteen hours straight. This time it wasn't for a Forward Conference. To begin with, we were at a Pastor's Summit this morning at 9am, and that was pretty awesome.
Free Chapel's worship team was there to start the morning off, and then after that came a long parade of guest speakers, pastors, and notables.
That's Riley Gaines, a swimmer who wasn't expecting to be a guest speaker at events like this until a recent turn of events.
Oh, and lok at this panel. Yes, that's Dr. Ben Carson there, along with Lance Wallnau, and a few others. I was taking lots of notes from speakers such as Coach Kennedy, the man who took his prayer on the football field case to the Supreme Court - and won. Also there were Andrew Wommack, Eric Metaxas, and our very own Pastor Franklin! The event was hosted by Turning Point USA, which of course is guided by Charlie Kirk, who also spoke with us for a few minutes as well. Lots of great speakers and video clips this morning, and then what favor we had. First of all, we got special privileged parking spots that were completely free. Then, for lunch, they fed us a really over-the-top luncheon that both Mom and I got to enjoy.
Once that was over with, we got some special badges, and we walked over to the arena. There were so many people waiting to get in there, but our badges got us in an expedited line, and we literally walked right in there. Not only did we walk right in, we also got seats right there on the floor level of the arena. What?
So this was our first political rally. A friend let us know this was upcoming, a nice lady who works with Turning Point USA, and we were so honored to be there. You can see we dressed up nicely for the event, and we have our appropriate hats on as well!
We ran into all kinds of people here, and in fact sat with some friends from church. The place was getting more and more full!
And there at the start of things was Pastor Franklin again, ready to speak and pray over the event tonight. He led us all in the Lord's Prayer together.
After that, there were a lot of guest speakers, one after another. There was Marjorie Green Taylor, and this other hilarious guy named Bennie Johnson.
Oh look! It's Tulsi Gabbard! She spoke after several other local state representatives and Congressmen. Mom and I were seated a long time, standing up from time to time, many times for ovations and so fort. The energy in the crowd was huge, and the place was packed!
She spoke for a little while, but the place went absolutely bonkers when this guy showed up:
It was RFK Jr., who spoke for a while about making America healthy again, a very important mission of his. And after RFK came another speaker that we were happy to hear from:
Tucker Carlson spoke for a while too. It was fantastic.
We waited a while after all that, and then this guy above showed up, Jason Aldean. I don't know him as much as others, but the crowd was cheering really loud by that time. The entire place was getting more and more amped up, and everyone was ready to see the speaker of the night:
So yeah, we went to a rally to hear a Presidential candidate, and we were treated really well the entire time. We were blessed and highly favored! Thousands of people were here, and there were many that just couldn't get into the building because it was so full.
Oh look! There's the legendary chart, the one that saved his life.
RFK, Trump, Tucker Carlson and Tulsi Gabbard |
All in all, it was a long but simply unforgettable day. We were so blessed, and Mom and I had a great time. It was date night. And date day. It was really fun!
We got home without incident, although it did take a while to get out of the parking lot there. But we arrived home, and Maddie stayed up so I could read to her a little more from our book, which I did. It was a good day for all of us. But man, we're wiped out. Time to get some rest!
