Ye-Ye and Nana's house looked really nice today, decorated for fall as we visited for a fun time with family, plus our friends Ray and Valerie who were here to visit. It was an amazing visit, because Nana and Ye-Ye had all kinds of pumpkins there, and we were ready to do some carving!
It was a really nice time together carving pumpkins, and when all was said and done, we put them on the fireplace with candles inside. They turned out well!
Later on we got home and set up my pumpkin and Maddie's pumpkin on the fireplace for some pictures. Maddie did a funny job on hers, a pumpkin with knives stabbed into it and some x's over its eyes. My pumpkin, meanwhile, is a spooky castle with the moon behind it. Both pumpkins came out great!
We had candles in them and had them lit all night long on the fireplace as we sat together and watched a movie. Tonight's feature was the 2016 Ghostbusters movie, which I actually don't mind so much. It's an odd part of the franchise history, a move that doesn't advance the story one bit, but seems to be this separate multi-verse thing, like this is what the Ghostbusters would be if they were women. Anyway, I like the movie.
After watching that and a hilarious Mickey Mouse cartoon (the one where he's accused of not being scary enough to frighten anyone), it was finally time for some rest. We read from "Wyrd Sisters" a bit more, and then we were ready for prayers, and then bed.
But what about this morning? Wasn't it Sunday morning? Yes, it was, and yes, we had another great KidPak service with another "basic training" skit, plus some other fun. Maddie got some great pictures uploaded on the church's website, and as we close up this entry, here are a few of those pictures from this fun morning.
