Maddie's last senior Homecoming game was tonight, and the students were all decked out for the "PINK OUT" theme, everyone wearing pink to the game. As you can see here, Maddie was wearing pink with all kinds of extras like the flamingos on her head. And even the skies above joined in on the fun!
Halftime was dedicated to honoring the Homecoming Court. You can see the nice balloon arch there in the middle of the field. Maddie posed under it a little later on.
Another reason to be happy: no rain. There's been a good bit of rain at the last few games she's attended, so this was a blessing, particularly on Homecoming night. After the game, the marching bands performed, and Maddie cheered for the East Forsyth marching band as they did its routine.
But honestly, I think I liked the other band's performance better! Their theme was based on the movie "Coraline," and that was pretty fun!
Anyway, it was a good night, and I'm glad of that. Maddie loved it.
Earlier we were watching some things on the television, including "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown." This sometimes results in our discussions of what constitutes the most "sincere pumpkin patch" around," and how to make your pumpkin patch more "sincere" so that the Great Pumpkin will show up with lots of candy. We also watched a few David Pumpkins skits before packing up and heading to the football field. Maddie and I ate some of the concessions there.
Earlier today, she was working with negatives (and positives too!), and meanwhile I was assembling and painting the new "Call of Duty" logo for our KidPak set.
We start a new series this weekend, and we were down in Braselton getting costumes and making signs for all the campuses.
We closed out the night with reading, of course. And then prayers - and a good night's rest. Tomorrow is Homecoming, and Maddie's super excited about that.
