Beauty and the Beast

Today's big event was our visit to Sandy Springs to see "Beauty and the Beast."  It was just amazing.  We have these season tickets and they're in the front row of the balcony, and this place was sold out not only today, but for all the productions.  In fact, they added two new showings, and those sold out too.

The sets were magnificent, and this tale as old as time was as good as any version we've ever seen, including the one we first saw with Maddie at the Fox Theater thirteen years ago!  We also saw the GTA do this one in 2016, and then there was the Gainesville Ballet version, and a "Beauty and the Beast Jr." version at a local school recently in 2022.

This one, however, may have been the best.  The performances were amazing, and the costumes were spectacular!  This was a really fun time this afternoon, and of course we were singing all the songs on the way there - I had the music playing in the car.  Each singer on stage was so good, and the choreography was just wonderful.

We had a great time!  Because you never know about Atlanta traffic, we left a few hours early, and once again, things were at peace here on the roads, so much that we got there a little over an hour early.

But right there at the theater, or at least next to it, there was a pretty fun festival of sorts going on, Northside St. Patrick's Festival on the Green.  It was one celebrating Irish heritage, of course.  St. Patrick's Day may have been last Sunday, but there were plenty of people wearing green and shamrocks, and there were booths selling food, and all sorts of different items from Ireland from music to decorations to things to wear.  Anyway, the weather was cool but the sun was shining and warming us up - we walked along the booths and listened to the music played by a live band, the Roundabouts, as we found a few swinging seats and just relaxed, enjoying the atmosphere.  The band even played a song I have been internally requesting in my mind for the last few weeks - "I'll Tell Me Ma."  I don't know why, but I've had that one in my head rent-free, and it was super fun getting to hear that one.

Anyway, we got home after that, and the rest of the day was comparatively quiet.  We were working on various things related to tomorrow's service and Easter.  Maddie and I went to Middle Earth a little later on, but we all got to bed at a good hour.  Tonight we read from our book, and we said our prayers before bed.  We're about to start a very busy week, so we'll need the rest tonight.
