Tonight we started reading a new series of books, ones called "Star Wars: From a Certain Point of View." Mom got me three of these books for Christmas, one for each of the original trilogy of movies. These books are filled with short stories of particular characters from the movies, and their points of view as things unfold. The logical thing to do is start with the first book, which actually features a character that bridges the gap between "Rogue One" and "A New Hope." That character is Raymus Antilles. And yep, that one doesn't end well. We were speculating about the other stories in this book as we read forward, hopefully one that gives the reader the point of view of a gonk droid. That would probably go something like this:
Gonk Droid
Dad and Maddie
Gonk. Gonk, gonk, gonk. Gonk.... gonk. Gonk? Gonk. Gonk, gonk, gonk. Gonk, gonk-gonk, gonk - gonk! Gonk. Gonk. Gonk. Gonk. Gonk, gonk... gonk. Gonk. Gonk? Gonk, gonk-gonk, gonk - gonk! Gonk. Gonk, gonk, gonk. Gonk. Gonk. Gonk. Gonk. Gonk, gonk... gonk. Gonk. Gonk! ...gonk. Gonk. Gonk. Gonk. Gonk. Gonk, gonk... gonk. Gonk. Gonk. Gonk, gonk, gonk. Gonk.... gonk. Gonk? Gonk. Gonk, gonk... gonk. Gonk. Gonk? Gonk, gonk-gonk, gonk - gonk! Gonk. Gonk, gonk, gonk. Gonk. Gonk. Gonk. Gonk. Gonk, gonk... gonk. Gonk. Gonk! ...gonk.
Gonk-gonk.
It's a pretty harrowing adventure if you ask me! Anyway, today was a quiet day, although a cold one. I mean, wow. What a shocker - the weather got below freezing again. We were quite surprised at the unexpected development.
Maddie got her prom tickets today, and she's already making her plans for the big night, which might include a trip to Vampire Penguin with some friends. She's a planner. She was over at Chestatee again, teaching there, and she was learning to teach others again over at taekwondo tonight. The leadership class has been especially instructive for her, training her on delivery, gestures, and of course actual content. Compliments are good too. She's doing well!
We got back home and sure enough, we had some time for television, so we watched a few episodes of "Monk." One of the episodes featured some facts Maddie learned just last week in forensics, and she got excited when she heard the show reaffirm what she had been learning. We originally chose this show because of her forensics class, although we knew that was a really weak connection - but it was fun too ee something come full circle. Anyway, she's enjoying the show - we're nearly done with season five now, just pushing along!
It's cold out there tonight. The bird bath is frozen over. The first day of spring is tomorrow, and I think everyone's ready for it.
