So this is one of Maddie's projects she's been working on, and isn't it adorable? I'm not sure what his/her name is, but this is quality stuff. But she's not the only one making art lately!
Josh was having Bailee and I create some water color images in the background as he talked about the Israelites "Painting Pictures of Egypt." This is a point I got from an old Sara Groves song of the same name, and pretty much the heart of the message for this weekend, one focused on the complaining Israelites. Anyway, we were painting in the background as Josh spoke to the camera, occasionally interacting with us, and we did these paintings in about twenty minutes or so. I think mine came out pretty well! I even made it look as if some very pleasant memory from Egypt.
So the rest of the day was busy, busy, busy. We had our last big Easter meeting before tech week. We've got some work still left to do. We'll see how things unfold, particularly the large fan-like costumes that we're introducing this year. These things are insane.
So above you can see a new visitor we had this morning, and these are "nuisance birds" that came in for a visit. There were a bunch of them: cow birds. They came in for a bit and swarmed the back deck, but the squirrel sort of scared them off, or perhaps it was the cat that was lurking just behind. Yes, that neighborhood cat came sprinting up the stairs, chasing after the squirrel. To no avail. The squirrel made the jump to safety off the deck and onto a nearby tree branch. By that time, all the birds had put up with enough.
Tonight Maddie was at FCY for a United night, which means all the campuses were here in Gainesville to conclude the big March Madness series.
It was also a return to our slam dunk contest! Maddie was there with her friends from taekwondo, as well as some of the others from Braselton. There was a brief message on the court, and then the festivities began!
I was on the couch tonight, because Mom has been dealing with this coughing thing, the same one I had a month ago. She was better tonight though, so that was good news. Hopefully she'll be 100% by the time tech week starts.
