Tonight was the first night of FCY in 2024, and it was a great day to talk about things to welcome in, and things to kick out. It was an in-and-out themed service, something like resolutions, and it was a fun and important night for all those who came. Of course, that includes Maddie.
And it was a cold day! Inside and out, at least inside the KidPak office. We were working ahead towards this weekend, and plugging in some dates on the calendar, including the big one: Summer Xtreme. It's right there in the midst of July, and it'll be more than likely a full week. Here we go again!
Today is the last day of winter break, so as you would expect, we were getting to bed a little earlier tonight. Maddie needs to get up earlier tomorrow. We were tired anyway, everyone ready for bed. Still, I managed to do some more reading from our latest Tiffany Aching adventure, and after that, there was prayer. We're already on January 3rd! Still, it was a pretty solid winter break for Maddie.
Mom was working on a little future plan for us in about a month, and that was a little of the excitement of the day: we're going on another little trip soon enough. Soon we'll be in another country, in fact! The idea began with the fact that we needed to bring Nana's urn down to the National Cemetery, a return to Florida down there at Cape Canaveral. The thinking was that we would meet Uncle George there, and perhaps even have a small little ceremony or share some thoughts - and then go right there and go on a cruise. And that's what Mom was preparing today, and that's something I was even preparing a little for today too, if you think about it. I have been training on the treadmill for a 5K, one on Castaway Cay. I've got to get in better shape - more running - but I'm getting there with some treadmill work each morning.
Anyway, that's going to be coming up eventually. Until then, we've got to do some DeSantafication, taking down Christmas ornaments and decorations. Undecking the halls, so to speak. We're getting things down so we can put up a few Valentine's decorations. Leaving December can be a sad season, but we'll keep moving forward with cruising plans and decorations and even more fun that you'll be reading about here soon.
