The Gift 2021

We returned this afternoon to see "The Gift," a tradition that Maddie has been doing pretty much all her life.  We've been going for something like twenty years now, and it was just as wonderful today as it's been since the very beginning.  We've noticed our names on the program, contributing "angels" for all these years.  I wish more people would be angels, because this ministry is magnificent.

The dancers work so hard with these performances, and we're really glad to see some of the same classic choreography from different dancers over the years - it's a tradition to see the Wise Men come in for their number, and the "Angels We Have Heard on High" dance is completely epic, a joy to watch each time.

Maddie watched this for the first time in 2009, back at what was the Georgia Mountain Center.  We've seen it at Pierce Auditorium in Brenau as well, although the last few years it's been here at the Venue in Flowery Branch.

This year was emotionally charged though, as it's been a supremely difficult year for Praise in Motion.  Their director passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer, something we all thought she has conquered last year when we saw her.  But this past summer we read of her passing, and I can only imagine how difficult a season it has been for all the dancers and families.

It was a beautiful performance, and we're so glad we came.  The snacks at intermission are fantastic too - white chocolate with cranberry, pistachios and peppermint, plus hot chocolate... yummy!

We had a great day today, getting decorations up, watching Christmas movies, preparing for tomorrow's KidPak service and even working towards the Christmas production.  Mom is steadily getting costumes together, one by one, getting it all taken care of.

It was a good day today.  Tomorrow will be a busy one, but another good one as well.
