All Together Now!

Tonight was the long-awaited production of "All Together Now!"  Maddie can be seen at the top, all the way to the right in the green shirt, and you can see how large the cast is.

It was a fantastic night.  Pastor Joe came with his kids, and Camille and her mom came, and they all came a good distance to see Maddie perform.  Of course, we ourselves live right down the street!  We didn't see Maddie again, at least since we dropped her off at school, as the cast was rehearsing up until the last minute.

But when we arrived, it was all really, really nice.  I love watching Maddie in these performances, and although she may not be the soloist at the front, nevertheless, she's got my attention.  She was great, always smiling - or at least at those points where she was supposed to smile.  During the "Newsies" song, there were points where the cast was angry, or during "Be Our Guest," parts where they were gloomy and complaining.

Maddie had a line in there, one from Newsies, and she projected well and got laughs.  She's got experience with that at KidPak, of course.  Joe's daughter Arabella was there - she's a toddler.  She recognized Maddie, and right after the Newsies song, after the applause and when all was quiet, she called out really loud, "Go Maddie!"  Everyone in the audience laughed at that.

Maddie looked like she was having a wonderful time on stage, and of course she was.  It's been a lot of hard work and practice, and she was super nervous to begin with.  But she did very well, and we're incredibly proud of her!  Here's a few selfies she took with friends and co-stars:

Afterwards, we met in the lobby and there was time for our visiting guests to warmly greet Maddie, and it was so sweet that they chose to spend their night here supporting her.  It was a very nice night and we were glad to see our friends and family here, all together now.
