Office Thanksgiving 2017

Once again, we had our Office Thanksgiving today, and I really need to start thinking up a better title for that.  Of course, that's what we were rolling with back in 2011 when it all first started.  We've been doing this seven years now, and each year it gets bigger and bigger and bigger...

This year, we had to move it out of the office and into the recreation room, where we lined up tables and set up all the food.  We said a brief prayer at the beginning, and along the way, Pastor Lance here counted the amount of people attending... and it was forty people!

Somehow we had enough food for everyone!  As long as Daddy got some of Josh's famous turkey, everything would be fine.  Josh anticipated a larger crowd, and got a little extra this year.  It worked out for him.  He carved that earlier, and you can see him trying to figure out how to carve something else here as well.  The line for food was long, but it's a nice chance to socialize with everyone.

We sat at one of the tables in the recreation room and had our turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, peas, salads, and a whole lot of other food items.  There was a lot to eat, so much that Daddy's plate was a little too full!  Madison has been looking forward to this day, and couldn't wait to be here with everyone.  She even brought her Uno card game with her.

Yes, afterwards, there was a pretty epic game of Uno.  We were doing a bit of clean-up while the gang here was playing Uno.  Madison was having the greatest time!

Afterwards, Daddy went to Brock's house with Lance and Josh for a board game called "Small World."  It was a lot of fun!

But he couldn't wait to get back home to see Madison and Mommy.  Our Christmas movie tonight was "Miracle on 34th Street," of course, because of the Thanksgiving parade.  Our tree is officially decorated, and the whole room looks just wonderful.  Meanwhile, Mommy has been preparing for the Thanksgiving feast tomorrow with a lot of food preparation.  She's made her own gluten-free pie crust, and is trying out a pecan pie that she can eat.  Also, the butternut squash soup is ready, along with other items, all crammed into the refrigerator.  Finally, the turkey is ready.  We have to set the alarm, of course, so that we can get up early enough to get it cooking.  Cannot wait for that smell to fill the house, and of course the family to come over for this very special day.  It's going to be something to be thankful for!
