Madison met Princess Anna this morning in service, and as you can see above, she was quite happy with the morning's events. All the kids enjoyed the ongoing drama, and were quite surprised to see Anna walk in on stage. It was funny to listen in as the audience heard most of her lines spoke verbatim from the movie "Frozen." She did a great job too! But the best part of the morning for me was the interaction with children afterwards. Kids lined up around the room, a long line just to meet the princess from "Frozen." And she wasn't just there to pose with kids either - she had short conversations with each child, and some of the reactions were precious. Some kids were running up to her, smiling and hugging her. Others were awestruck, just amazed that she happened to be here.
Anyway, the morning went well. Our message about snow was a lot of fun too - about each of us made different like snowflakes, and about how each of us work together to make something greater. Like a snowman! Or a snow fort! Of course, we're talking about making something greater as a church body. The final point had to do with our lives being made pure as snow, which tied it all together rather nicely. It was a fun service, and Madison learned quite a bit this morning, along with the other kids of course.
Afterwards, we went home to relax a bit. It was a draining sort of morning, so we headed home and did a bit of piano work. Madison finished her piano for the week, so it was time for her to get her weekly clue for a new reward. Today's clue went like this:
Roses are red,
shamrocks are green.
When this guy gets angry,
he gets pretty mean.
He likes to go smashing
and make a big mess.
That probably explains
this one room I guess!
It was the Incredible Hulk, of course. We added him to our Disney Infinity collection today - and Madison found him in her playroom, which was a mess this week. Madison read the clue, and looked upward and said, "It's the playroom." She just said it matter-of-factly, acknowledging: "Yep, I have to clean that room up."
Which she did a little. But we had to try out the Hulk too, and it was a lot of fun. We started our Avengers adventure today, now with our final Avenger in place. We actually spent a good bit of time on that one, pretty much until bed. We did eat, of course. But not as much - we're still on the fast, although there is just one more week to go.
We read before going to bed, and said our prayers for friends and family. We also talked for a bit, as we've been doing a bit of before bedtime. It's such a nice, quiet time for conversations about different things.
The good news is that we can sleep in tomorrow, because we don't have school. Mommy and Daddy watched a bit of television in bed, but soon we were drifting off to sleep ourselves. It was a big morning, and you could say it was "cool" to have another "Frozen" princess with us!
