Elfcon 1

It was 6 AM this morning that the front door bell rang.  Mommy and Madison were upstairs getting ready for school when they heard it.  Who could that be?  Mommy and Madison went downstairs and opened the door - and there it was:  a package for Madison.  And this one was from the North Pole!

Daddy came downstairs to check it out, and together the three of us went to the kitchen table to open it up and see what was inside.  Guess who's back?  It's Jingle the Elf!

Today is the first of December, which means Jingle will be with us for a while, wreaking havoc in the house.  December is in full swing now, as Madison went to her advent chain on the wall to take down the first link.  Only 24 more sleeps until Christmas!

Today was another day as well:  Cyber Monday.  It was an unusual morning for Mommy and Daddy, who both sat on different computers this morning, surfing for deals.  Mommy is getting a great Christmas present from Daddy, a serger sewing machine.  It was marked down hundreds of dollars, and we were there for the lightning deal online.  It was a funny morning in that respect, because we probably spent more time looking than anything else.  But we saw a few things for Madison there, and along those lines, the wrapping has begun.  LOTS of wrapping to go, but we've got our war room all set up for that sort of thing.

Madison came home from her first day back at school, and all was well. The weather was nice today - unseasonably warm, and feeling pretty good out there.  We got ready quickly for ballet after that, which saw a return of all the little ballerinas to class.  Daddy finished a book while he waited on her, "The Fourth Wiseman."  It's pretty good if you haven't read it yet.

Madison had homework once again, but that wasn't all.  We did a quick devotional tonight, based on our advent theme of the season.  We're talking about Gabriel tonight, the messenger angel from the Christmas story.  We read a scripture or two, and talked about this part of the story.  And after that, Madison made a craft:  an angel.  She and Mommy worked on that together tonight, the first of the month.  Currently it is hanging on Madison's tree - the goal is to do one, maybe each day of the month leading up to Christmas.  That's a tall order, but we'll see if we can pull it off.

Daddy had play practice tonight.  Less than two weeks to go!  But things are moving along.  We'll be in full gear tomorrow, attending to all the little details.  But it is a good cast, and the script still seems pretty good - it's survived quite a bit of blocking without much adjustment.

It's time for bed now - we have to go check on Jingle.  He's around here somewhere, and hopefully not already into too much mischief...
