Madison got an Elsa stocking this morning, courtesy of Jingle the Elf. It's actually hard to come by now, as these stockings were picked up pretty quickly from the stores early last month. We were right. This is the year of Elsa. And the rest of the cast of "Frozen." You can find them on about everything. There's a "Frozen" edition of Scrabble. There is a "Frozen" snow cone maker. There are all sorts of things with the artwork from "Frozen"on them, for no apparent reason other than selling that item. The closest thing I can think of would be the E.T. and Pac-Man crazes from the 80's. The difference here may be that all of these items are actually selling.
Today was a flurry of activity, with a little shopping thrown in the mix. We found Warhead flavored candy canes today, which was a pretty awesome thrill to see. Madison will love those. She's really enjoying the candy canes that keep popping up this month. It's the season of candy canes, these delicious bits of peppermint sweetness given out by banks, doctors, school teachers, and just about everyone else. Madison is probably consuming one candy cane per day. Just wait until she sees those Warhead flavored ones though!
We did a LOT of wrapping today, which means we're really ahead of the game there. Also, we ordered a lot of pictures for the grandparents. Each year we put together a collection of pictures from the entire year, an assortment of photos of Madison throughout the previous twelve months.
Of course there was play practice. This will be the theme for another week or so. It's going well though. The weather outside is cold, so it is starting to feel a bit more like Christmas. We were dashing away into ballet this afternoon - and dashing out the doors too. Only one more class after today - until next year, that is. There weren't many at class today though, which is probably because of the exhausting weekend that they had, many students and teachers being involved in their production of "The Nutcracker."
We'll know that feeling in about a week's time.
