Mommy's Birthday

What does a Mommy do on her birthday? Today we started out later, sleeping in somewhat. Yes, that was about 8:30 or so when Madison started calling out from her crib, "Mamma. Mamma. Mamma. Mamma. Mamma..."

Eventually you have to give in and go get her! It was a quiet morning, as Mommy, Nana and Madison got busy outside fixing up the side of the house by planting more flowers and plants. As you can imagine, this is becoming a bigger project. It is looking very nice there!

Daddy came back from work, and together everyone went to PF Chang's for a great dinner to celebrate Mommy's birthday. We had a very small waiting time, and sat together by the Terracotta Warrior statue and ate a big meal. It was very good, and Madison slurped up all her soup very quickly. She seems to be not so into egg rolls anymore, but the dessert was delicious!

We opened presents today - at one point, Ye-Ye and Nana came over with Aunt Shain, David Austen, Jonathan and Hannah. They sang "Happy Birthday" out on the porch, much like Christmas carolers - and gave Mommy some birthday presents: a shovel, and loppers (Madison got a pink shovel and a pink rake!). Daddy got Mommy a toaster and a trifle bowl, and a few movies. Tomorrow, Mommy gets more - mainly because she's a Mommy!

It was a nice day together, but tomorrow Ba-Ba and Nana return home to Florida. Time goes by so quickly. But it was a great, relaxing time together this week. Why, even Velcro and Kitty got along quite nicely!
