It's quite a shock, and there's a tiny bit of bittersweet to it all, but she's so happy and it really does look great. Some say "it suits her," which I tend to agree with. The long hair look is nice too, but this is a great look as well. Also, it's going to be a lot easier to maintain!
Maddie does not like jumping jacks too much, but here you can see she's found a bit of her rhythm. I don't like jumping jacks either, Maddie. I was glad I brought my camera because later on I was able to take some pictures of families posing with their students after passing testing. Again, Maddie will be doing some more testing next time around, but the students all work together on these nights, even the ones not testing, and they help each other move forward.
Tonight she was at taekwondo, and there was a good bit of sparring today because tonight in black belt class, it was time for testing. Not Maddie this evening, but she was still there to help out and train some more.
There were a few students that were testing for different upgrades. Maddie wasn't moving up tonight, but will do so the next testing session. A little. It's a longer process once you get your black belt, but some time next year she should move up to earning her second degree black belt.
They were doing some weapons sparring too, using the combat sticks for quick strikes. Maddie really likes this type of sparring a lot. She's also very good at it.
It was a nice night, a bit of a formal one too with parents watching on as their students completed testing for various stages. We were seated where we usually are, but I had brought my camera along just because.
We got home afterwards, and there's not much time afterwards for other things. We've got to get more acclimated to the new schedule that's going to kick off on Thursday with school. So we all got to bed a little more early. But tonight we did read, and we also said our prayers of course. It was a good day, and a big day because of a fairly big haircut!
