Hummingbird Ring

Mom has been trying out this hummingbird ring, and me too.  It requires you being completely still, but we've had some customers flying up to us.  The two of us took turns trying it out, and even put on the Angels hat you see above, just adding some more attractive red to the scene.  No takers yet, but there's interest.  We think that if you take away the big feeder, they'll inspect the ring.  But we haven't gotten that far yet.

Today is Banana Split Day, so you know how we celebrated, right?  Maddie was at taekwondo, and as usual we had Nana with us so I took her grocery shopping to go for a walk.  That's when I noted the banana split flavored ice cream, which was just perfect for the day.  So when we got home, we all had banana splits, and my goodness, those were yummy!

Maddie had her small group again tonight, and they're veering away from the games somewhat, although they do enjoy them.  They enjoy each other's company more, and that's so good.  The group is going strong, thanks to Lauren and Camille.  They open up and share and tell stories, and are guided along.  Speaking of moving along, the group is still going strong with the Bible app they've been doing together.  Maddie is moving forward, reading and reading still on that.

We all had pizza tonight.  Some of us had the cauliflower pizza, which is good enough for me.  I did a good bit of work today towards "The Quest," while Mom was actually painting the garage floor!  She's called in some folks to fix the garage doors up, and we should be able to move the cars around a bit.  I say "cars," because soon we'll be working on finding a new replacement car for the last totaled one.  The check came in for the compensation, and of course the price of cars has gone up so much that the compensation check is sort of like a half-off coupon for a new car.  Nevertheless, we need one.  We'll be driving the Mercedes around until then, and that's a gas monster.  We got the license plate worked out for that one, and now suddenly I have two more used license plates to add to my garage wall - one from Florida, and the old Georgia one from our Corolla.

The adventures of "The Mysterious Benedict Society" continued tonight, and we read quite a bit of a longer chapter of that tonight before bed.  We said our prayers, and listened to the rain outside.  It's been raining a lot this summer.  It's a pleasant sound to fall asleep to.
