Arrietty

We continued our Miyazaki fest with tonight's viewing of "The Secret World of Arrietty."  I forgot how much we liked this one, but that's the general thing to describe all these movies.  Maddie and I sat down tonight to take in the amazingly creative work from artists halfway around the world.  Such a good animated picture.  When outside, we're less likely to use pesticides, for fear that Borrowers might be out there, affected horribly.  Of course, that doesn't mean we aren't out there with the salt gun attacking juro spiders.  Yeah, still hunting those critters.

We have a whole lot of bird visitors of late.  We have regular hummingbird visits, and a few territorial hummingbirds always driving the others off because they think they can drink all of that hummingbird food that Mom makes each day.  We have fledglings, and a lot of them.  We had a visit today - simultaneously - of two bluebird fledglings and two cardinal fledglings, along with their parents too, all of them at the bird feeders, while the hummingbirds flitted above and a few mourning doves hopped about on the deck below.  Busy day at the feeder!

It was a busy day on the road for us too.  We were over at Hobby Lobby getting a few things like paint, but also checking out the seasonal stuff a little early.  Maddie and Mom were at Target looking through make-up and other cosmetics.  Yeah, she's getting the hang of make-up now!

We stopped by for some boba tea, still using some of the birthday gift cards for boba tea that she got a few months ago.  We also stopped for some rotisserie chicken, which made for a big dinner when we got home.  It was a relaxing day today, made nicer by our view from the back deck and a nice cup of herbal tea.  Pumpkins are growing nicely, still green but getting bigger.  Mom cut my hair, and we were doing a lot of wedding prep, wrapping a present and signing cards.  We were sitting out there for a good while, which you can do so long as you wear mosquito repellant - those bugs are about as prevalent as the juro spiders lately.  And they seem to really like Maddie and myself as much as we like the boba tea!

It was a nice day.  We'll be sure to leave a sugar cube out there for the Borrowers.
