The Listener

Tonight was Maddie's taekwondo night, and she was back.  She was only there one visit last week, so she was ready to come back tonight for her leadership class and her black belt class.  She was doing a bit of sparring and also helping out others with their form.  She's enjoying nearly all aspects of taekwondo, and enjoys being with her friends there, and making new ones too.

In order to pick Maddie up in time for class, I have to get to the school around 3pm or so, which means waiting about forty minutes in that parking lot.  I'm typing on this blog from that location right now, as there's a bit of time to kill.  There are a lot more cars this year than last year, as the line goes on for well over a mile down the road, this after the large line of cars in the parking lot itself.  Lots of students here.

We've been watching the newest Marvel show, one called "She-Hulk."  It's not too bad.  Not necessarily our favorite, but it's fun.  That will be our ongoing series to watch, although I've also been hooked on "Light and Magic" lately.  Only one more episode to go on that one, and it's been exciting to watch all these processes and behind-the-scenes people who I now know who they are.  They've done some pretty amazing things.

Of course, we're dealing with the car rental right now, but we got the call about the Toyota we had, and got the confirmation that it was in fact totaled.  And a new wave of sadness swept over us about the loss of our car.  We were told a value that we'd be given for it, which of course is only about half of what we'd need to spend for a new car, so the whole thing is in fact a complete pain.  Speaking of which, I was at the chiropractor for a little today, this before the car line.  It's helped out a bit, as I was fairly sore from the accident.

Tonight we read, and we're finding out that there is another person with the mental skills of Constance, one being used by the villains.  They call this person "The Listener," and there's all kinds of mental battles going on.  I wonder if Charles Xavier knows about these two.  Anyway, we read, and after that we said a short prayer, and went down to Maddie's room to say goodnight.  Goodnight!
