Photography

Madison's photography class is going forward full steam ahead - she was taking pictures in class with her camera, and letting others take pictures too, like this one you see above.  We uploaded a few of them to a drive tonight, doing this while watching Madison kicking other people at taekwondo tonight.  She was a little smoother tonight, as everything is coming back to her a little more quickly now.  A lot of the kids have been a little rusty, having spent so much time away during their Christmas break.  But here we are, ready to go, and moving forward in 2020 with a lot of different directions to move in.  It is a bit stressful for her already, but this may be rooted somewhat in her math classes this week, where she's having to learn formulas for some non-standard shapes.

She's got a field trip upcoming, one to the High Museum.  This is funny, as we were just there!  But she's going with her art class, and it should be a nice trip away for a day.  We were attempting to explain the importance of getting away from school from time to time, but she's pretty stressed and is feeling like a day in class getting things perfected would be more productive.  This is such a funny contrast to Daddy's philosophy at 7th grade which was as follows:  If there is any way to not be in school, take that.

Well, we did a lot of writing today, working on the devotional for this new series.  We're doing some mild work with the DeSantafication Process, moving tubs and getting things down.  It's a fairly long effort, although not as long as actually putting everything up.  I think it would be shorter if not for the fact that it can be a fairly melancholy thing, taking decorations down.

Getting home tonight, we were watching a few things on television, and doing some homework as well.  We read from our books and the devotional, and had soup and salad.  Mommy does so well with that!  Here's time to brag on Mommy and her amazing cooking.  Just look at these fast-friendly entree here, a little potato, spinach and egg put together in a nice presentation.

When it is bedtime, there are the usual rituals.  We read and prayed, of course.  But before Daddy comes up, Madison finds a hiding place, and sometimes it is so funny you can't help but crack up.  Check out where I found her when I opened the linen closet:

She was super proud she could still fit in there!  We had a good laugh about that.  And shortly after that, it was time for prayers and bedtime.  We had a nice day together, always a good time together as a family.  We are very, very blessed.
