We got up earlier this morning, and for a good reason: it was time to go back to art club! You can see above one of Madison's first projects: she was making Shrinky Dinks! These are those sheets that you decorate and then put in the oven, and watch them shrink and harden. Madison punched a hole in one of them already, which you can see above, and plans to do so for the rest in order to make them key chains. She's cheering on the Braves, and perhaps some time soon we'll get to go to one of their games as well. They've been doing really well lately, surprisingly good this year and a lot of fun to listen to on the radio, or watch whenever we can.
In the meantime, today was also a big day for a math test. This was a big deal, a simple little quiz, but these things can shift momentum, so Madison was all over it, studying a lot last night. Daddy had made a deal with her if she got an A, and not only did she get an A, she got a 100 on that math test. Way to go, Madison! I owe you an album!
We had some meetings today, and after a bit of discussion, we're pushing back "Lost World" yet again, this time to next spring. This poor series has been bumped quite a bit, almost like the Star Wars one was a few years ago, constantly being pushed back. We've since done the Star Wars one twice now, so there's reason to hope that it will all time out perfectly. The reason for the adjustment is related to the upcoming conference at the church, and the builder of our set who does both the conferences and the sets at KidPak. There was a delay, and that sort of forced our hand. The end result won't be so bad though - we thought about doing the series "Game On" again, and that could be fun. Another thing we're planning: a Christmas play. This could be unique. We'll call it that right now, but here we go again: a Christmas play with kids on the main stage. Hopefully we can pull it off. But there's no coincidence that our series "Game On" would be going on while we're trying to write this play. And of course there are other things going on too, as described in yesterday's post. It's going to be a unique and challenging time.
Madison and Daddy have a bit of combat, basically because taekwondo is Thursdays and Tuesdays, and Madison needs someone to spar with. But we don't use officially sanctioned taekwondo maneuvers in the house. No, we use the "squid" form of combat. This is basically waving your arms around frantically as if you were a squid, hoping for a block or a strike - all while making squid noises. As you can imagine, this is terribly effective.
We were watching some Clone Wars episodes tonight, just rolling along there. Of course, it's six seasons of Clone Wars, so that will take a little bit longer to go through. But seeing each one of these, we're remembering how great they are.
We got all kinds of mulch today, and were out there watering the plants and laying the mulch out as well. Yard work is pretty hot though, with the temperatures up there for another week or so. Afterwards, Mommy was watching a webinar on essential oils. Sometimes we watch things live on the computer, like rides on Disney or Presidential rallies.
Tonight we were reading and praying. We'll be praying for Ba-Ba quite a bit in the coming weeks, as we did tonight. Hopefully we can do even more as well.
