Goodnight Mr. Foot

Another Sunday morning, and another adventure at KidPak.  The toys are back in town, and there's a full-on mystery here as they're trying to figure out who the villainous character is amongst them.  It's a whodunnit, and although everyone is thinking it might be Nerdo, the truth is actually something a little more unusual.

Madison and her sheep friends were back on stage once more, along with Mr. Potato Head and all the others, and we got some good laughs on stage and talked about temptation, and how it is "Lotso" trouble.  Speaking of "Toy Story 3," we had a fun little game here on stage.

It was the Tri-County Dump Dash."  Kids had to go through garbage bags to find the pictures of seven of the Toy Story friends, along with matching parts of the day's memory verse.  It was fun!

After service, the kids helping out with the media were invited to a Smash Brothers Party, and since Madison was hanging around with us after service, she joined in on the fun!  There were eight people playing at a time, and it was the usual chaos.  Madison's first time playing was a success by her standards, because "she didn't die first."

Everyone was pretty worn out from this DIVINE Conference though.  In fact, we were so tired, we gave Mommy a break from cooking and opted to go over to the Texas Roadhouse for some lunch/dinner.  We arrived late enough to miss the lunch crowd, and got some steaks, and chicken for Madison (with plenty of hot sauce).  There as a good crowd there, and the food is still good.

We got home, and Madison did some piano practice, while Mommy took a bath.  Daddy was reading a bit, the latest book a biography of sorts of Billy the Kid.  It was relaxing.  Madison and Daddy also had a few games this afternoon, the first being a game of Liar's Dice.

This is on the Blu-ray Disc of "Dead Man's Chest."  Pintel, Marty, and some other pirates on board the Black Pearl are inviting people over to play a few rounds of Liar's Dice, a game featured in the movie itself.  We hadn't tried this before, but both Madison and Daddy won when we tried it.  So fortunately, we don't owe any years of hard labor on board the Flying Dutchman.  Not that this was at risk in this game.  I think the reward for winning was a chicken.  Which we politely declined.

We were celebrating Talk Like a Pirate Day a few days after the fact, but that's okay.  We pulled out the game of LIFE, but the Pirates of the Caribbean version, and had the soundtracks playing in the background.  Daddy won the first time, but Madison won the second time, rather handily, actually.  Such is the life of a pirate!

We sat down to watch a movie after this, part of our October-themed movie series.  We're getting through a lot of these October-theme movies, and it isn't even October yet!  Nevertheless, we watched "Hotel Transylvania" tonight, and also watched a short animated feature where one rather famous monster of sorts visits the hotel - Big Foot.

The short was called, "Goodnight Mr. Foot."  Big Foot seems to be a theme as of late!  Anyway, we watched this short, and that was about all there was for the day, given that we have to get back to school tomorrow.  We said our prayers and read from a few books, the devotional and the Star Wars book.  Madison's been reading a Star Wars book of her own and is nearly done with it - it has a few hundred pages of reading there, and she's been really into it.  It's a story of Princess Leia, and I have no idea what it is about!

Anyway, we said our prayers for Ba-Ba and everyone else.  It was a good, full day, starting with an important morning at church.   But now it's time for bed, for all of us.

"Good night Mr. Foot!"
